Critical Habitat Designation

Thanks to the NRDC and the Center for Biological Diversity for their diligent work to push for designated critical habitat, thus securing protections for places essential to the survival of one of America’s most imperiled pollinators - the rusty patched bumble bee (RPBB). This determination is the result of over a decade of fighting to secure protections for the RPBB and the areas it depends on to survive,” said Lucas Thodes, senior attorney at the NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council). Many of its native grasslands have been wiped out, so protecting habitat from further destruction is critical. Pollinator Friendly Alliance works hard to increase biodiversity and habitat for pollinators. We encourage everyone to make a little habitat in their yard, at their business, place of worship, schools and public spaces. Safe pollinator corridors are key to protecting keystone pollinator species.
